Feature Guide: Bookmarks

On Ourchive, bookmarks are a feature intended to allow users to curate their favorite works. Bookmarks support tagging, commenting, and long, descriptive text (or, if you prefer, a short record of your thoughts). If your administrator has the feature enabled, bookmarks also support star ratings.

You can create a bookmark by clicking the bookmark icon on a work.

When bookmarks are deleted, associated data such as comments are also deleted. Bookmarks are not deleted when the linked work is deleted.

Bookmarks work with collections: a collection is a set of bookmarks with additional information. Future versions of Ourchive will build on this functionality, allowing for collaborative collections, timed reveals for fests, grouping collections by theme, and more.

Right now, all bookmarks are public. Private bookmarks are scheduled for the v.5 release.
